"The kids are incredible," Coach Cory Nyamora said at the end of the first session of the kids' triathlon training this season. The kids had just completed the day's swimming training at Mills College, Oakland.
Coach Nyamora was impressed by the energy shown by the kids, who had already done an eight-mile hike with their parents earlier in the day. "I did not expect the kids to have so much energy after the hike," he said.
Coach Nyamora is conducting a four-week triathlon training for 7-14-year-old kids. A triathlon competetion comprises swimming, biking and running. At the end of the four weeks of training, the kids will compete at a California kids’ triathlon. The current training will end on June 2, 2013.
Coach Nyamora involves the whole family in the training of the kids. He provides the kids' families with plans to facilitate the training.
The next training session will be on May 8 at Clark Kerr Track, in Berkely. The kids will learn how to prepare for a running competition.
