Thanks to all the kids and parents who attended our April 10th Mountain Biking Trip in San Francisco. We had a fun and successful day in the park. I was impressed by all that you did. Congratulations! I’ll let the kids summarize the trip in their own words.
Here’s what the kids wrote about what they learned about themselves from this bike trip:
“I learned that I could do lots of things,” said a nine-year old.
“I learned that I am fast at riding bikes,” said an eight-year old.
“I am capable of more exercise than I thought,” another excited child, 12 year old said.
An 11-year old had this advice for other kids: “Don’t give up.”
What were the best things about the day?
“Meeting new people, visiting fun places,” said a 12-year old.
“That I got to ride bikes, we got to see a lot of stuff,” said an eight-year old kid. “We saw bikes with six wheels.”
“I could ride with others,” said a nine-year old
“I talked with people and had fun,” another child, 10, said.
What did the children learn about nutrition?
“It’s important to eat healthy,” said a 10-year old.
“Don’t have too much of one thing,” added a 12-year old.
“Healthy foods give you more energy,” another child, 11, said.
“It’s better if you eat healthy than eating junk food,” said an eight-year old.
What the children experienced is so important for our young people’s health. They learn from doing and experiencing the fun and joy of movement and not just being told about it.
So thank you parents and youth for coming out and enjoying the day! Hopefully we’ll see you at our Fit family triathlon training and at our next bike ride!
